RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Among others, the duties and responsibilities will include aligning the human resources to the strategic vision of the company, developing and implementing human resources policies and procedures, workforce planning, employee data management, establishing collaborative relationships with functional leaders and providing HR support to assist with the achievement of the Company’s objectives and goals.

 

Coordinating the Human Resource systems, identify and prioritizing improvement opportunities and formulating alternatives and improvements to systems and methods. Recruitment for expatriate and senior national roles (including writing the job advertisements, interviewing, reference checking and creating employment contracts. Preparing and conducting inductions for new employees), providing guidance and direction to the HODs in relation to labour legislation compliance and industrial issues, policies and procedures. In addition, managing the relationship between the Union(s) and Management and ensuring that all industrial relations activities are carried out as per labour laws stipulation. Must be a member of a relevant professional body.

 

Ensure the effective implementation of BU’s operational risk management framework

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • An Undergraduate university degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration or any Social Science.
  • At least twenty (20) years experience in generalist human resource management, in the mining or manufacturing industry of which five (5) years should be at senior management level.
  • Should have proven people management experience, a proven track record in managing Human Resources Operations, knowledge of HR Systems and Remuneration processes, experience in managing expatriate employment procedures and should have solid experience in dealing with industrial and employee relations.
  • Should have the ability to connect with people and the business, high energy levels, a structured, planned approach to work, a business approach to HR, high accuracy and attention to detail, numerical skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
