CLIENT PROFILE

Our client is a coal mining company in Zambia, which adopts modern, eco-friendly mining and processing methods. They are seeking to recruit a General Practitioner to be based in southern province. 

ROLES

General Practitioner

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Screening, diagnosing and managing all cases presenting at the practice and referring to appropriate facilities cases requiring further attention
• In line with current national and international management protocols, developing health care plans for patients
• Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems
• Assessing the community health care needs as well as designing and leading implementation programs to address those needs
• Providing counseling and health education

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Full Grade 12 certificate
• MBChB or equivalent from a recognized university
• Full registration with the Health Professions Council of Zambia and holder of a current practicing license
• 2 years experienced post internship. Training and experience in the provision of Highly Active Anti-retroviral Therapy desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• IT proficient in basic Microsoft applications
• Ability to offer support within a clinical  team and  share learning points in practice meetings
• Ability to draft cogent, error-free letters and reports in a timely manner
• Experience and an interest within a primary care setting
