Overview - IT Manager\'s role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in line with the business objectives of the organization. This individual will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. Main

 

Responsibilities - Evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meet these needs, plan, develop and implement the ICT budget, obtain competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness, schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems; research and install new systems ensuring the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision; ensure that software licensing laws are adhered to, provide secure access to the network for remote users; ensure the security of data from internal and external attack; provide users with appropriate support and advice; manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems, mentor and train new ICT support staff, keeping up to date with the latest technologies.

 

Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree, specializing in Information Technology

  • 5 years related experience in the field of Information Technology and Project management, networking, software development Certifications in ITIL, Microsoft and or CCNA added advantage
  • 5 years experience managing personnel
  • Must be able to work a very flexible shift including weekends, nights and holidays when necessary
  • Skilled in the use of computers, adapts to new technology, keeps abreast of changes, learns new programs quickly, uses computers to improve productivity
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic work place
  • Generates new ideas, challenges the status quo, takes risks, supports change, encourages innovation, solves problems creatively, strong working knowledge and experience in Accpac is a must for the prospective candidate.
