Our client is seeking to employ enterprising, self-motivated, well experienced professionals to fill the position of Mechanical Engineer to be based in Southern province of Zambia.

The Role

The ideal candidate will be a very well organized person who is an excellent communicator. They will have the ability to cope under a high workload, prioritizing work and, where necessary, requesting assistance from colleagues. Tolerance and understanding towards others are expected of everyone.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Must have a degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  2. Must have at least five (5) to eight (8) years experience in mechanical maintenance in a large industry.
  3. Must be a member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
  4. Must have excellent skills in computers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
  2. Provide documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
  3. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  4. Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  5. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
  6. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
  7. Establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and supply of materials required to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.
