Our client Prospero Limited, dedicated to fostering the growth of environmentally sustainable businesses in Zambia through innovative market development, capacity building for high-growth enterprises, impactful financing mechanisms, and investment facilitation services, is seeking a competent and qualified Technical Manager (Technical and Financial Innovation).


Prospero Limited will be working on a new EU funded project under the Green Economy Promotion and Diversification (GEPD) Programme and is therefore seeking to recruit a Technical Manager who will work closely with the technical and operational head of the Green Recycling Enterprises Engaging in New Technology for a Circular Economy in Zambia (GREEN Tech4CE) Implementation Team


The GREEN Tech4CE is a collaboration between Prospero Limited and three co-applicants to promote and de-risk investment in green sustainable growth in Zambia through creating and sustaining green, circular, and digital economic opportunities for women, men, and youths.



Main Purpose of Job:



The Technical Manager (Digital and Financial Innovation ) will support the implementation of this 4-year, European Union-funded programme through effective partnerships with the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) /implementing organisations, provide technical assistance and grant support to increase the provision of services to MSMEs particularly in the green, circular and digital economy.


He/She will be responsible for developing and implementing digital strategies to support the intervention logic of the GREEN Tech4CE project. This includes enhancing the capacity of MSMEs, increasing market awareness for green, circular, and digital (GCD) products, and facilitating growth and sustainability in the GCD economy in Zambia

Key Responsibilities

Main Activities

Strategy and Planning

  • Contribute to the development of the Corporate strategy ;
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with the market systems approach of the GREEN Tech4CE project and;
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives.

Digital and Innovation Support

  • Utilize digital tools and platforms to enhance the technical assistance and financial support provided to MSMEs and;
  • Drive the importance of integrating digital technologies in business processes to enhance efficiency and productivity for economic transformation

Market Awareness and Demand Creation

  • Increase market awareness and demand for GCD products through digital marketing campaigns;
  • Develop and manage online content that highlights the benefits and opportunities of GCD products and;
  • Utilize social media, SEO, and other digital marketing techniques to promote GCD products.

Financial Product Availability

  • Work with financial service providers (FSPs) and investors to develop and promote a range of digital financial products tailored for MSMEs in the GCD sector;
  • Provide digital solutions to FSPs for better service delivery to MSMEs;
  • Focus on the transformative role of digital technology in making financial services more inclusive, efficient, and sustainable through fintech innovations such as peer-to-peer lending, digital wallets, and blockchain applications that contribute to sustainable financing of MSMEs and;
  • Promote the development of local digital financial products and services

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with the key stakeholders and;
  • Provide training to external and internal stakeholders on trends in the digital economy to ensure they are up to date with the latest developments and opportunities

Governance, Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure that all activities within the department are fully aligned with the organization’s Digital and Financial Innovation Policy, Procedures and Practices;
  • Create and distribute digital policy briefs to influence GCD standards and practices and;
  • Assess and mitigate Digital and Financial Innovation risks.

Knowledge Management, Learning and Sharing

  • Support Business Development Service Providers (BDSPs) in delivering digital solutions to MSMEs and;
  • Organize and manage digital platforms for peer-led private-public learning events.

Capacity Building

  • Develop digital training materials and tools to build the capacity of MSMEs;
  • Collaborate with Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) providers to enhance the quality of digital skills training and;
  • Develop and implement e-learning modules for workforce development in the GCD economy.



Qualifications, Experience and Skills:


Competence at Management level is required to understand and apply advanced policies, practices, procedures, concepts, and principles.



General Education:


  • Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate



Professional/Academic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital marketing, Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional and valid membership to relevant professional body.



Relevant Job Experience:


  • Minimum of 5 years’ post qualifying experience in a cross-cultural environment institution at management level in developing and implementing digital strategies.
