HEAD OF FINANCE
Our client, dedicated to fostering the growth of environmentally sustainable businesses in Zambia through innovative market development, capacity building for high-growth enterprises, impactful financing mechanisms, and investment facilitation services, is seeking a competent and qualified Head of Finance.
Main Purpose of Job:
Head of Finance leads the finance team in driving financial strategy, planning, and execution. The Head of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial activities of organisation, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial risk management, as required by it's financial, operational functions, Board and donors.
Duties
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategy formulation and planning;
- Stakeholder management through identification of strategic partnerships/linkages on existing and new sustainable partnerships;

Strategy and Planning |
- Contribute to the development of the organisation’s Corporate Strategy;
- Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with organisation's goals and objectives;
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders;

Financial Management |
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimise financial performance and minimise risk;
- Establish and implement financial systems for field office and project accounting and grants finance management, including payroll, transfers, and reporting to statutory bodies;
- Administer and monitor all financial aspects of the grants program, including pre-award financial/management surveys, requests for advances, funds disbursements and expenditure reconciliation, financial reporting, audits, and close-out;
- Develop and maintain a grants financial tracking system and coordinate with project staff that manage the grants to identify and resolve any issues;
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure effective resource allocation and financial planning;.

Stakeholder Management |
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, auditors, and regulatory authorities and Donors;

Governance, Compliance Risk Management |
- Develop and implement robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, standards, and donor rules;
- Assess and mitigate financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks
- Maintain liability, workman’s compensations, and other insurance policies on behalf of the office, as applicable;

Reporting and Business Analytics |
- Lead the preparation of all other project financial deliverables and reports in a timely fashion for the review and approval of the CEO as well as other stakeholders with the mandate and;
- Provide expert financial and budgeting (including pipeline) analysis to the CEO, including a monthly report on actual and projected expenditures per budget line item. Anticipate any issues and recommend any corrective measures as needed.

Team Leadership, Coaching and Mentorship |
- Provide training and technical assistance on financial and grants management as needed to project staff, grantees and other implementing partners;
- Plan and manage own workflow, anticipating obstacles, juggling priorities and following through on objectives within agreed time-lines without compromising quality and standards; and
- Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth:

Qualifications, Experience and Skills::
Considerable competence at senior management level is required to understand and apply advanced policies, practices, procedures, concepts, and principles.
General Education:
- Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
Professional/Academic Qualifications:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) ACCA, CIMA, ZICA or related finance discipline.
- MSc. MA in a related discipline
- Professional and valid membership to relevant professional body (ZICA)
Relevant Job Experience:
- Minimum of eight years of experience with 5 years in a similar role which must be with a similar organisation.
- Experience in working with donor programming, rules and regulations.
