Our client, an American International Non Governmental Organization providing support to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) through education support and spiritual discipleship to three thousand (3000) orphans in Zambia is seeking to employ suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of: SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT: REF LPCL 003/11

JOB GOAL:

  • To provide inspirational leadership in developing and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services for the students of the school system.
  • To lead, guide, and direct every member of the administrative, instructional, and support services teams in setting and achieving the highest standards of excellence in educational programs and operating systems.
  • To oversee and administer the use of all facilities, property, and funds in the best interests of students and the school system.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Degree in Education or Educational administration.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Successful performance in teaching and administrative positions of increasing responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Board policies, and regulations of the Ministry of Education.
  • Awareness of community attitudes toward the schools, sources of school support, community expectations for the schools, curriculum and instructional theory and practices, management principles and financial planning, management information systems and leadership techniques is essential.
  • The position requires, among other qualities, managerial, observational, communications, and leadership skills and abilities.
  • Must be of good moral and spiritual character. Passion for OVCs is essential.

Experience:

  • Have earned at least five years of actual teaching or education administration experience.
  • Preferable school or school system administrative experience with concentration in administration, supervision, curriculum, finances and people management.
