ROLE: Business Development Consultant

 

 

The Business Development Consultant is responsible to assist the firm acquire new clients and sell services to existing clients.



Duties

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Develop and implement new innovative business strategies in order to source, maintain and grow the firm’s client base;
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management (including CRM);
  • Promote the firm’s products/services, addressing or predicting clients’ objectives;
  • Prepare quality proposals in line with ToRs and firm methodology and standards;
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients;
  • Timely and accurate submission of all required reports;
  • Develop and implement business models to assess firm’s business performance, significant events and progress against business financial objectives.
  • Provide the best possible service through the practice of ‘Client First’ ethic and promote a vibrant image of the firm; and
  • Follow through client queries/requests in a manner that ensures closure.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Master’s Degree in Business or equivalent;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales or equivalent;
  • Full member of ZIM;
  • At least 7 years’ relevant business development experience, 3 years of which should have been at Management level;
  • Financial services experience essential;
  • Relevant experience in professional services environment;
  • Experience in consulting would be an added advantage;
  • Experience in managing stakeholder relations. Experience with client management software would be an added advantage;
  • Ability to convert strategic goals and objectives into implementable plans and programs;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Outstanding analytical, research and reporting skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Sound technology skills, including MS Excel skills, Powerpoint, Word and databases;
  • Good client service skills with a service-oriented mindset;
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills;
  • Excellent organisation and Time Management skills;
  • Problem solving skills and Conflict management skills;
  • Negotiation Skills; and
  • Valid driver’s license.
