Duties

The Role

Under the supervision and approval of the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance Manager will direct the preparation, implementation and monitoring of all financial systems, policies and procedures. In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, s/he will design and approve all financial controls, financial reporting systems and procedures.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Accounting/Finance degree, ACCA/CIMA or ZICA qualified
  • 5 years minimum experience in financial management at senior level
  • Working with Non governmental or multi-nationals organisations.
  • Performing the whole financial management function, including taxation, Payroll, audit committee and Board reporting
  • Directing and monitoring the management of cash and other assets to ensure integrity and efficiency in the use of financial resources for the program overall, and ensuring the highest returns in the use of those assets.
  • Implementing/updating a sound internal control system and taking the appropriate personnel actions against any violation of the system.
  • Providing accurate and consist financial and management reports.
  • Preparing financial plans, financial statements and other varied fiscal reports.
  • Providing a positive linkage and communication between the local and satellite office and strengthening the “sense of team and commitment to the mission” within the organization.
  • In depth knowledge of financial software application, database spreadsheets, and/or word processing including accounting and reporting packages
  • Must be a member of ZICA

Skill

  • Effective communicator with ability to communicate organisation’s direction and ability to motivate others with strong, honest leadership.
  • Firm foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting standard.
  • Good accuracy and attention to detail coupled with strong follow-through.
  • Technically sound.
  • Well organised and systematic.
  • Socially adept to operate at senior management level
