LPCL is supporting its client, an Agribusiness located in Kawambwa, with hiring of a Farm Manager.



Role Purpose:



Serves as the primary point of contact, with overall management responsibilities, supported by technical and execution teams.



Duties


Key responsibilities:

  • Farm Administration: Overseeing workers, managing supplies and equipment, coordinating external contractors, as well as ensuring health and safety compliance on the farm.
  • Liaison: Coordinating with local authorities, following up on infrastructure promises with government ministries, updating senior management and maintaining positive interactions with surrounding communities.
  • Facilities: Overseeing office and accommodation facilities, managing hospitality, proposing farm requirements for approval and implementing sustainable farming techniques.



Key requirements:

  • Fluent speaker of Zambian local languages
  • Independent and self-starter personality
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge of Global Good Agricultural Practices (G.A.P.)
  • Ability to make or provide vital inputs for making decisions
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and
  • Strong computer skills in Ms Word, Excel, Powerpoint



Work Experience and credentials:

  • A passion for agriculture & extensive experience of 10 years+ in Agri farming, with last 5 to 8 years in independently handling the overall responsibilities;
  • Preference for experience in working at a large Agri farms at remote locations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and;
  • Additional courses in business management or administration preferred.
